As guest conductor, he has conducted the Naples Philharmonic, Euskadiko Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Orquesta de la Región de Murcia, Castellón Wind Orchestra, Santiago de Compostela Wind Orchestra and Mallorca Wind Orchestra, among others. Currently, he is the conductor and founder of the ArNova Festival Ensemble.
Antonio maintains a close artistic relationship with Andrés Orozco Estrada, with whom he attends and collaborates directly. Similarly, he has received guidance and attended prestigious maestros such as Sir Simon Rattle, Andris Nelsons, Juanjo Mena, Tugan Sokhiev, alongside orchestras like the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Orchestre du Capitole du Toulouse, hr- Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt, Spanish National Orchestra, among others .
Antonio Lajara has received several awards, including the third prize for the best conductor at the Wiener Musikseminar organized by Andrés Orozco Estrada, finalist in the prestigious 53 Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors and was selected to participate in the II International Conducting Competition "Antal Dorati" in Budapest. Additionally, it is noteworthy that he was a finalist after being invited by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, l’Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Montpellier and Naples Philharmonic to compete for the role of assistant conductor.
Antonio Lajara studied orchestral conducting at the Basque Country Conservatory of Music (Musikene) under the guidance of Enrique García Asensio and Manel Valdivieso. His teachers include Bruno Aprea and Andrés Orozco Estrada. Also, he has participated in conducting masterclasses at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Marc Heron and Timothy Reynish, in the Universidad de Alcalá with Jesús López Cobos, in Berlin with Lior Shambadal, in Gstaad Conducting Academy with Neeme Jarvi and Johannes Schaefli, in Panula Academy, in the Allegra conducting masterclasses with Nicolás Pasquet, just as in the masterclasses in Dubrovnik with Uros Lajovic.
